Making those Valentine's pillows really got me in the mood...
the mood for a giveaway, that is!!
If you're like me, you enter countless giveaways, but you never win.
You with me? Can I get an Amen! or a Holla! or a What-What!
If so, keep reading.
If not (meaning, you've won a giveaway before), this post does not apply to you, because...
I'm having a giveaway for LOSERS!! That's right, this giveaway is strictly for those who have never won one (a bloggy-fabric-type giveaway, that is). I've had this idea since around Christmastime...if you read this post, now you know what I was talking about! I was a little bit of a slacker, but I finally got around to picking out fabric.
To go along with February 14, it's all reds and pinks - a little bit of the fabrics you see in the pillows I made. So that's a little Nicey Jane, a little Caleb Gray for Robert Kaufman, a little Tula Pink, etc. This is not a jackpot kind of giveaway, but it's just a little something to make a loser feel like a winner for a day.
Unfortunately, at the end of it all I'll still be a loser, but that's okay.
Anyways, entering is very simple. All you have to do is leave a comment telling me whether you love Valentine's Day or hate it, and why. That's it! Could it be any easier? And at the end of it all, one of you losers will win something!
I love that.
Since there's not really a way for me to check to see if you've won something before, I'm going to ask that you please be honest, and give those less lucky a chance to win. Okay? Thanks.
I'll close the contest on Sunday, February 13th, and announce the winner on Valentine's Day!
From one loser to another, count me in! I love V-day cause me and the hubs usually go out to eat (my fave thing to do.) But this year I decided that I'm going all out for my fam. So we're staying home, I'll make some heart shaped food, and enjoy our V-day together. I'm really looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteYay! Love the giveaway for losers idea!
ReplyDeleteI like Valentine's day, but I don't like how commercialized it is. I like making things for V day - like leaving cut out hearts with messages on them all over the house for Rory to find. He'll be out of town this year, so I'm going to make a construction paper box and fill it with construction paper conversation hearts to put in his suitcase :o)
ha, I love this idea. I can't tell you the amount of giveaways I have entered, but I must be a total loser because I have never won one.
ReplyDeleteSo I am in on this one for sure.
I feel pretty neutral about V day. We are not an overly romatic couple, and high expectations usually stress our my husband so I keep them minimal and then I am not dissapointed. We usually exchange a card but no gifts.
I love thoughtful things, and I appreciate them throughout the year when they happen unpromted by a holiday - like my hubby writing me a love note on the shower wall using the kids bath foam letters.
oh, and I LOVE the nicey jane line. one of my favs!
What a great idea! I like Valentine's day especially now that I'm married. It was always a little awkward before :) I always make little heart shaped cakes and decorate them.
ReplyDeletethe day always makes me feel sad since I think everyday should be a day full of little love nudges, not just one day in a year. That being said, I still want a damn present! :)
ReplyDeleteLove, Peg
I also don't have strong feelings about Valentine's Day - it's nice and all, but can be day filled with unmet expectations if your expectations (like mine sometimes) aren't always realistic. Oddly enough, Landon is great at bringing me flowers for no reason, just out of the blue, but I'm not sure I've ever got flowers for the major flower holidays. I know one reason for that - flowers at Valentines are more expensive and it is pretty smart of him to save that money for something else I equally appreciate.
ReplyDeleteRamble much, Katy?
Anyway, if I win, feel free to throw in the pillows you made as well. Thankyouverymuch. ;)
I'd never seen anything like it before I moved stateside, sure we do cards, and maybe a small gift, but boy you guys really go to town, especially in kindergarten, where I found myself for my first American Valentine's day LOL
ReplyDeleteThat said, Gary and I are usually pretty romantic anyways, so I don't feel any pressure to be especially so on this particular day.
thanks for hosting a giveaway for us losers

I used to be pretty indifferent about Valentine's day until this year- my daughter is 2 and we're having the best time making "Balentimes" out of craft foam and stickers. It's so amazing to see things through the eyes of your child who hasn't been though 27 years of previous Valentine's Days :)
ReplyDeleteNew follower to your blog- LOVE it! Keep up the good work!
Hi! Oh, I love Valentine's Day! Always have. I'm definitely a romantic at heart. Even when I didn't have a valentine, it was always fun to dress in red, send cards, and be a little extra crafty and, I don't know, lovey with friends and family. Now V-day is even more fun with kids to celebrate with -- to spread the love around some more. :)
ReplyDeletei'm pretty sure i've never won anything. mostly because i'm the one always giving things away...
ReplyDeletei'm not a huge van of valentines day...love the cute pillows though!
Ok...here is why I think it is my "density" to win....
ReplyDelete1. I've never won a giveaway and I'm not too proud to call myself a loser!
2. I have a son named Caleb! (caleb gray)
3. My name is Val (valentine's day)
4. My blog is howaboutpinkplease! (pink fabric)
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've never won a bloggy-giveaway and it's sad.
ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is just another day really for me, as I don't have a sweetie to call my own. I don't love it and I don't hate it.
What I do want to do is bring back the ritual of making Valentine's Day boxes and passing out Valentine's Day cards...like we used to do in elementary school, that was awesome!
Can't stand Valentines Day!! I don't understand what all the fuss is about, I mean I want my partner to make me feel special throughout the year (which he does in bucketloads) not on some day created for commercial reasons. And yeah! I'm a loser and would love to win your giveaway.
ReplyDeleteValentines day is pretty low key at our house, and I don't mind that because we enjoy doing things together all the time so I kind of feel like it is Vday alot!!! We will probably grab something to eat after work (we work together) somewhere that we've been meaning to go and spend a nice evening with my sewing machine humming and basketball being watched on the TV with the fireplace roaring. Sounds just perfect!
ReplyDeleteWould be awesome to win fabric!!
Thanks for the chance. :)

I give it a try BUT I always lose! Love Valentine day, we have panncakes heart shaped with wipped cream and jam made from the last frozen strawberrys from last summer. And all kids LOVE that.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the CHANCE to win!
I'm a loser, I'm a loser! I DO enter SO many and NEVER have won! This is too funny and so nice!
ReplyDeleteI love Valentine's Day. I especially love it for my kids. I get to get all sappy with them (14 and 12) and they take it! I love getting flowers and a gift too! It makes me realize how lucky I am to have two healthy, excelling, bright kids and a loving husband. I get to get sappy in the kitchen too. I'm making Martha Stewarts pink meringues dipped in chocolate this year! yay!!
I'm a loser! I love Valentin's Day because I get to be mushy on my kids and they can't complain!
ReplyDeleteI'm a total loser hehe! I LOVE Valentines day because i get to make decorations (who doesn't love to decorate?!) and spoil my mummy a little (oh and my husbad too hehe).
ReplyDeleteI enter all the time & LOSE. I hate Valentines Day because it genuinely seems to be a forced thing to those hubbies that would rather be watching the Golf Channel than forcing themselves to get up off their a** and buy a card. Mine actually asked me today, "What day is Valentine's day?" after watching a cheesy jewlry commercial...how's that for romantic?
ReplyDeleteAnother loser here! LOL! Here in Australia Valentine's Day has grown over the years, but as I have birthday at this time of year, would rather celebrate that!
ReplyDeleteI'm a loser too! I'm not that big on valentines day. I think it is over-commercialised but I wouldn't say no to a thoughtful little gift! :) Thanks for the loser giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI love Valentine's Day becasue it just gives me another excuse to got out with my awesome husband. Plus, it gives me another excuse to snuggle with him when we get home!!! (as if I need an excuse)
ReplyDeleteIt's a love/hate thing for me. I love it when hubby remembers it... but hate it when he doesn't. LOL!!! Overall, I think it's a good thing, but I always feel bad for the single folks on that day.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to leave "loser-hood". :)
I'm a loser! Please help me switch to the "W" column!
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I don't really consider valentine's day a big deal, but this year I am sending my parents and my in-laws valentine's cards. We found out just before Christmas that my father-in-law has cancer, so this year, having another reason to say, "I love you," seems to be a big deal. So, I guess I'm in the "like" category for the heart holiday!
I love Valentine's Day b/c that means it's exactly 2 weeks to my birthday...and I LOVE my birthday! And I too am a loser, at both winning stuff and at love. boo hoo...no boy toys in my life! I will buy my own chocolate...
ReplyDeleteI too like Valentine's Day because my birthday is 6 days later!!! So I just like the month of February in general....even if it snows!! It's a very happy month for me....and I love pink!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Valentine's Day!! Pink is my favorite color!! Thanks for the chance!
ReplyDeleteI like your giveaway...count me in, because I am a loser!
ReplyDeleteI love Valentine's Day because it's just so wonderful to have an excuse to let folks know you like them! As I get older, I've found that doing something that gives someone pleasure is so pleasurable for me!
