RJ's Quilt - DONE!

And with 2 weeks to spare!

Have I mentioned how much I love doing the machine binding? It's saving me so much time and frustration right now! Maybe I'll pick up the hand stitching again, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Let me just be clear that the bindings on this quilt and my niece's quilt are far from perfect. But overall, I'm happy with the outcome and I'm just so happy with how much quicker it goes! Practice will hopefully make perfect - someday.

Starburst

I just finished the quilting on my nephew's quilt. I was trying to think of something Star Warsy, so I went to this website and found this picture.

The lines really caught my eye, and I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Up Next

A quilt for my nephew. I'm keeping it SUPER simple. As in, no piecing, or anything. I have two different vintage sheets, one will be the front, one will be the back. One of them has been loved alot, and it feels very fragile to me, so it scares me to cut into it too much. I may try to get a little creative with the quilting, and I have a couple of ideas floating around in my head...we'll see what happens with it.

My husband reminded me that this is for an 8 year old boy, and that he will just be excited to see that it's Star Wars, so I don't need to get all fancy with the piecing. It was a good reminder, because I'm really starting to run out of time!! I should be able to get started on it today, and I'm excited!
